Living in recovery isn’t as easy as waking up in the morning and jump starting your day. It’s full time job, it’s a discipline, it’s a challenge, it’s changing your mind set several times a day when you want to is give in because, giving in is sometimes easier than enduring, Easier than feeling the pain to heal, easier than facing the faces, the people that you’ve seen cry tears, and express anger because of a you that you are trying to grow and train, a you that right now doesn’t exist, but they can’t see past them. Recovery isn’t fixed in 30 days . It’s a life long journey. A journey you don’t have to walk alone. It’s not rushed, it’s not glitter and gold, it’s time consuming, it’s structured, and it is life or death. And you made it this far, whether it be day 1 or 40 years, you did it!! You’re doing it!! Living proof that it works if you work it. Happy New year, here’s to another day sober.
